Better sorting. Better recovery.

Separate before you mix
Keep copper, aluminium, brass and steel in separate streams where practical. Mixed loads take more work to assess, and contamination can reduce the recoverable metal content.
Describe what you have
Record the approximate quantity, whether material is coated or insulated, and whether non-metal attachments are present. Clear photographs help an assessor understand the load.
Handle materials carefully
Do not burn insulation, open sealed vessels or dismantle batteries to improve a scrap price. Ask about acceptance and safe handling before moving unfamiliar materials.
